PASTORAL PAGE CHILDREN'S SPIRITUALITY by Asst Ps Gift Daniel Reaching out to children has always been a focus of global outreach across the nations. Recently a number of mission organizations have put a lot of resources to reach out to the 4/14 window. The 4/14 window refers to the global initiative to reach out to the demographic group between the ages of 4 and 14 years. It is estimated that there are roughly 1.2 billion children and youths in the world in this age group. There are some good reasons why outreach organizations suggest reaching the 4/14 window as one of the keys for the future of world missions. I want to highlight some reasons for our awareness. If you are going through a season of challenges and need emotional support, the Lay Counselling Ministry in the Bible Church would love to pray and journey with you through your struggles and difficulties. Trained counsellors are available to help with pastoral care and short-term counselling for children, youth and adults, including TBC members, regular attendees and those seeking Christian counsel. We welcome all with a heart for these brothers to join our kopi sessions – 1st and 3rd Sundays, 4.30-6pm Kranji Recreation Centre, 11 Kranji Close #2 Gladiolus Place Together with the Ladies Ministry, join us for monthly baking or craft sessions at Gladiolus Place – a non-profit Christian residential refuge for at-risk teenage girls. CG RETOOLING IN THE MONTH OF MAY How do you enlarge the pool of readied and opened outreach targets in your circle of influence? How do you cultivate the hearts of yet-unreceptive pre-believers, and plant the seed of the gospel? How do you know when is the best time to bring in the harvest and to share the gospel winsomely? Join us for the third session of CG Retooling to learn practical handles for your personal outreach using the strategy of Cultivate, Plant and Reap (CPR). Discover how your CG or small groups can make use of CPR in conjunction with the Alpha Course to reach your family and friends. All CGLs are requested to rally your members to attend the sessions. The sessions will replace your regular CG meetings for the month of May. Please speak with your CG Overseers if you have any questions. Thank you for making time to join the sessions. CLEMENTI WOODS KINDERGARTEN (CWK) DAY We will be connecting with the CWK parents and their children this Saturday, 13 May 2023. There will be a children performance during the Saturday Service. As a church, let us extend our warmest welcome to the teachers, children and parents from CWK. NO ENGLISH 1ST SERVICE ON SUNDAY, 18 JUNE 2023 AT 8.30AM AND KFC ON 17 & 18 JUNE 2023 In view of the Church Camp from 16 to 19 June 2023 (Friday to Monday), there will be no English 1st Service on Sunday, 18 June at 8.30am and no KFC on 17 and 18 June. English Services on 17 June at 5pm and 18 June at 10.15am; and Chinese Service on 18 June at 8.45am will proceed as normal. |

CHINESE MINISTRY - AGAPE FELLOWSHIP The Chinese Ministry started "Agape" Fellowship on 5 May. It is held on the first and third Fridays of each month from 2.00pm to 3.30 pm at Rooms #04-01/02. The purpose of this fellowship is to provide an additional channel for members to get to know each other, learn or pray for each other. Activities, conducted in Mandarin, include Bible study, exercises, workshops, etc. We welcome everyone to join us. CHINESE MINISTRY PARENTS' DAY The Chinese Ministry (CM) will be celebrating Parents' Day on 28 May 2023. There will be a gospel message at the worship service by Rev Dr Lim Teck Peng (林德平牧师). Members are encouraged to invite their pre-believing parents and friends for the occasion. After the service, please join us for a lunch fellowship at JB 101 Seafood (45 Science Park Rd, #01-03/04, Science Park II, Singapore 117407) from 11.30am to 2.00pm. The cost is $20 per person. Registration starts on 7 May 2023 and closes on 21 May 2023. CRUX REASONABLE FAITH SERIES The topics in this year's reasonable faith series seeks to explore the philosophical and theological perspective of the nature of God, and His relationship to the human experience. Each topic tackles a challenging question about God, such as why a good God would allow suffering, how we can know God, and why God isn't more obvious to us. So, if you ever had such questions or if you have friends wondering about the nature of God, do invite them and join us for this 3-week series starting on 28 May! |

YOUNG ADULTS FELLOWSHIP (YAF) RETREAT After 4 years, YAF Retreat 2023 is heading overseas again! The retreat will take place from Friday, 14 Jul 2023 to Sunday, 16 Jul 2023 at Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, Johor. This year, our hope is for young adults to re-connect with the heart of God and his desire for us to relate rightly and genuinely with him, ourselves, and the communities around us. Topics explored during the sessions include "how do I move from knowing about God to knowing God?", "how do I love myself?", "how do I genuinely forgive those who have hurt me?", and "what part can I play in God's kingdom purposes?" Retreatants can also look forward to intimate small-group discussions, as well as fun and bonding with the young adults community! Our speaker is Mr Julian Chin, who was a district judge before he left the courts for his theological studies at Regent College in Vancouver, Canada. Thereafter, he served as the youth and young adults pastor in his church for 5 years, before rejoining the courts as a district judge. He is married to Wo Bin, and they have 2 daughters, Ashley (22) and Lauren (18). Julian and Wo Bin have been attending The Bible Church.
