Happy Spring

Hello, fellow art lovers.  We’ve had a cold start to spring but I think we're finally there. My garden peas are up and we’re supposed to start getting warmer temperatures at night. Flowers are starting to bloom and “painting subjects” in my yard are becoming more colorful.

This painting of a birds nest was done from a photo taken last spring. The Robins’ nest was in a short apple tree in my back yard; I could stand over it, and was able to take a picture looking right down into it. I thought this would convey the feeling of spring. It’s titled “Robins in the Apple Tree.” The painting is 12” X 12” and currently hangs in the GB Studio and Gallery in Clatskanie, Oregon.

Since the pandemic has closed most in-person classes and meetings I’ve substituted zoom classes and currently am taking a class through Oregon School of Art, where I am learning to paint looser and more freely. We will see where that goes in my next newsletter, or check my website, www.lindasprau.com to see my paintings as they are finished.

Have a safe and happy spring
