Toronto Eesti Maja - celebrated... |
The LÄÄST BLÄÄST at Toronto Estonian House was a blast! ...and wrapped, looking forward to KESKUS opening! |
Right after reverberations from the LÄÄST BLÄÄST party died down, the Toronto Estonian House became a hive of a different kind of activity, and that was the herculean effort required to empty out almost 60 years of accumulated treasures and 'stuff' in a few short weeks. KESKUS construction update |
Deep foundation construction at the KESKUS site is almost complete with the final micro-piles being finished this month and the testing of those will continue as the concrete cures. Excavation and soil remediation over the TTC tunnels is next, with the engineered pad built to withstand weight over the tunnels removed. This next month is also expected to see demolition work inside of the heritage house get underway. This continues Phase I of construction as discussed at the community engagement session on March 24, 2022, watch it here, or read a summary here, eesti keeles siin. |
