This week, I had the pleasure of spending some time with an old friend who is on vacation in Miami. Celia is an incredibly inspiring young professional. I learned something new every time we spoke.

Celia is currently pursuing an MBA at the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. When I first heard about her decision to move to the United States a year ago, I was shocked. Not only did she give up a high-paying and stable job in China, but she had to integrate herself into a completely new atmosphere at the age of 30.

"What drives you? What makes you always take on new challenges?" I asked her this time.

"Life is a video game!" Celia said.

I found Celia's answer quite interesting. I agree that life is the video game Celia is always playing. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from FIU, Celia continued her education in Hong Kong. With a master's degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she worked her way up from a development officer to a development manager in a world well-known hotel group. After meeting and learning from some of the best minds in the field of real estate, she decided to pursue this career in mainland China. She was able to successfully complete several merger and acquisition projects in just a few years. As everyone thought she was ready for a happy life, she quit her job and studied the GMAT in preparation for applying to top MBA programs.

During our conversation, Celia mentioned that she has always expanded her horizons, and found more opportunities to tackle challenging projects, as well as meet smarter people than herself. The more projects she completes and the more people she speaks with, the more obsessed she becomes with growing herself.

Playing video games is similar, we explore and progress through challenging levels to achieve our objectives. Once we defeat a "boss", we just cannot wait to move on to the next one. The reason we enjoy playing video games is that our sense of accomplishment is gratifying, isn't it? The challenges we face every day can also be enjoyable, don't you think so? Instead of viewing life as a race, think of it as a game. Let's enjoy fighting the "boss" and getting ready for the next level!

Best regards,

Fang
