Dear friend
Last year when the pandemic hit and I got furloughed, I got busy. I was working on my HR diploma, I have signed up for a lot of online courses, I started building my website, I read a lot of books and I started running and doing almost daily yoga. Yep, all of that during a time when I literally could do nothing and rest the entire time.
You might have heard this story before so you know the outcome, but if you missed it - I hit the burnout. After two months of going non-stop and 'working 9-5' even though I was on furlough (i was still getting paid enough to live off), I have managed to push myself to the breaking point. it took me two months. That's when I realised that this cycle of burnouts, which I used to blame on my corporate career; is actually self-inflicted.
With help from a therapist, I learned how to start allowing myself to rest and started learning how to listen to myself. This lead to daily meditation practice and training to becoming a teacher.
