Call for submissions

Cloud Ink Press is pleased to announce the next submission period is now open and will close on 10 December 2019. We invite graduates of the Auckland University of Technology Masters of Creative Writing Programme to submit work. We hope to widen the scope of submissions in the future, but present resources mean we still need to restrict submissions to alumni only.

In order to assist us in processing your manuscript, before you submit please ensure that (a) the manuscript has been assessed or critiqued to ensure the structure is sound and (b) the manuscript has been proofread.

To make a submission, send a synopsis of the work and the full manuscript to info@cloudink.co.nz

Please present your submission in the following format:

* PDF file

* 12 point Times New Roman

* 1.5 line spacing

Provide a two-page (maximum) synopsis which summarises the plot, main characters, themes, word count and intended audience of your manuscript. Also, include a paragraph about yourself and your writing.

Please also address these points in your submission:

* To what level and in what way has your work been assessed or critiqued?

* Please indicate how you might see yourself being involved in the work of our press.

Cloud Ink Press is a collective and all work for the press is voluntary. Cloud Ink has published ten works in the three years we have been in existence. We are looking to publish a variety of genres and enjoy different challenges.

If you have any questions, please email us for further information.

Fresh Ink

 A Collection of Voices from Aotearoa New Zealand 2019

Thank you to all Fresh Ink 2019 authors and artists who have contributed to this stunning anthology. Fresh Ink 2019 includes a talented array of authors' work, featuring prose, poetry, flash fiction, novel extracts and artwork - a sure sign of the artistic and creative talent in Aotearoa. Pictured right, Feby Idrus reads from 'Let Me In' at the Ōtepoti Launch, University Book Shop.  Featured readings have also taken place at the Going West Writers' Festival and the Auckland Launch held at AUT.

Fresh Ink 2019 has featured for the past two weeks on the the Nielsen BookScan New Zealand bestseller list top ten! The anthology makes for a beautiful Christmas gift.

We have two publications currently available on pre-order.  The Strength of Eggshells by Kirsty Powell will launch this Tuesday at the Women's Bookshop, 6pm and Rivers Ran Red by J.A. Grierson is soon to be released in early November!

Check out our website for details.

The Alexandrite by Dione Jones is now available nationwide.

On the 29th of September Dione Jones featured on Standing Room Only, chatting with Lynn Freeman about the book. To have a listen to the interview, click here.

Set on the grounds of a run down British stately home, a dead stranger with a cryptic letter in his pocket sets off a chain of events for the estranged family. The Alexandrite also takes place in New Zealand, with the action spanning several different time periods.

The Alexandrite is a riveting read - make sure to rate the book on Goodreads.

Available at all good bookstores and at the Cloud Ink Press online shop.
