Okaloosa Democrats Out In Our Community

September was a busy month for the Okaloosa Democrats! Here’s what we’ve been up to, and at the bottom are a couple of events coming up very soon. Hope to see you there!

Blue Bench Candidate Training

On Saturday September 21, the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) kicked off its Municipal Victory Program with a training for candidates and their campaign staff at the Emerald Coast Convention Center in Fort Walton Beach. More than 70 Democrats were trained on how to run for local office. The FDP has also created a one-of kind toolkit that helps candidates build and execute their campaign plans.

Voter Registration at the Northwest Florida Fair

Okaloosa Democrats were out in force at the Northwest Florida State Fair. We registered 71 voters and collected 108 petitions to help Congressional Candidate Phil Ehr get on the ballot. Phil is running against Matt Gaetz and you can help him get on the ballot! Just print, sign and mail this petition to the address on the form.

Democrats Show Up Big at the

Crestview Peace Day Festival

It was a day of music, yoga, dancing and painting at Peace Day in Crestview. Our Democratic Hispanic and Environmental Caucuses were there to register voters, and the Democratic Executive Committee provided free hot dogs. If you’d like to help register voters Saturday October 12 at Dog Daze at Liza Jackson Park, FWB, please sign up here.

Democrats Discuss Voter Registration Strategy at Crestview Community Leaders Luncheon

The Okaloosa Democratic Executive Committee hosted a luncheon in Crestview for community and faith leaders to enlist their support for our voter registration efforts. Organized by Precinct 11 Committeewoman Kimberly Weekes, the keynote speaker was Helen Butler, Executive Director of the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda.

Okaloosa County Democratic Environmental Caucus Supports National 'Drive Electric' Week

National Drive Electric Week is held annually to generate interest in and public awareness of Electric Vehicles. The Environmental Caucus registered voters, collected petitions for Phil Ehr and the assault weapons ban, and fund-raised by selling environmentally friendly items including metal straws, mesh veggie bags, and delicious peanut butter dark chocolate krispie treats.
