Notice of Annual Meeting

The Chautauqua UCC Society bylaws state that we must have an annual meeting, in person, at Chautauqua each year. All members in good standing are eligible to vote. This is your notice! The meeting will be held on Sunday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. EDT in Randell Chapel at the Headquarters.  You can read more about the meeting on our website here.

If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, please return the Proxy form with your instructions to Ruth Becker, secretary or complete the online form by clicking here.

Calling Volunteers for Closing Weekend

We are so very grateful for the teams of extraordinary volunteers who helped us open our houses for the 2024 Season. We are calling now for volunteers to help us close down following the Annual Meeting. Typically, we can make quick work of this on Monday and Tuesday (which fall on August 26 and August 27 this year). If you can help with closing down, please reach out to our registrar, Grace Lipman.

Sesquicentennial News

You have probably heard that during the 2024 Season Chautauqua Institution will be celebrating its 150th Birthday. The Chautauqua UCC Society will be celebrating its own 150th in a few years. In preparation for this event, we are collecting memories and materials to commemorate the anniversary. We invite all our members to share memories that may be included in our history. We are especially interested in memories or photos from decades ago. We will be setting up a way to collect memories shortly. In the meantime, if you are interested in contributing a memory, please contact our newsletter editor, Welling Hall.
