Property Tax Assessment Shock?! Here's what to do about it.

Did you receive your property tax assessment? Are you in shock? You’re not alone!

What is your property tax assessment?

What you received in the mail is an assessment on your home from the last two years, so the current value of your home reflects the difference in price between June 2020 and June 2022. We all know how crazy that time was, so it’s no surprise to see our property taxes shoot up.
The county will be sending the new assessment to your mortgage servicer, and they will likely be adjusting your escrow account for the higher assessment so there is enough money in your account to pay the tax bill when it comes due in February and June of 2024.

What can you do about it?

You can appeal your property taxes!

See the links below to start the appeal process ASAP. The appeal process started May 1st and goes through June 8th.
