BCOEC Fall Newsletter 🍂

Happy fall, everyone!

I have a couple of important announcements, but I’ll keep it brief – please read 'em!

1) Community Gathering! We are celebrating our Buffalo Cove community and 20 years of being in operation! Actually, last year would have been 20 years, but, you know, we were still in a pandemic.

So, we are celebrating this year and we hope you can come join us! It’s going to be really informal, focused on hanging out with friends and having fun.

  • Sunday, October 23rd, 2022 from 3:00 - 5:30 PM. Weather dependent (we will cancel if rain is upon us!).

  • Location: our farm in Triplett (191 Jakes Mtn Rd. 28618). The big field behind the VFD.

  • Bring your own picnic dinner, drinks, picnic blanket, outdoor games (frisbee, balls, etc), musical instruments, all the good stuff.

  • Dress to be OUTSIDE! There is no shelter for us to seek refuge in!

  • We will be hanging out in our pasture, having a big fire, visiting with friends, and playing some games. There might be a traditional archery tournament in the form of an ol’ timey blanket shoot, so bring your bow and an item to place on the blanket to wager.

  • Fun for ALL!

2) Summer Camp 2023 registration is around the corner! Be on the lookout for another email and postings on Facebook and Instagram (@buffalocovecamp) to announce when it’s open! Last year we

had multiple sessions fill up within just a few days...soooo heads up!

3) Buffalo Cove Bushcraft Knives. We have another batch of Buffalo Cove Bushcraft Knives coming out for our community this fall, just in time for the holidays! These blades have really hit it big in the outdoor adventure/bushcraft world. They are receiving lots of wonderful use and feedback and Josh (@primitive.woodsman) is selling lots of them all over the country!

Josh has been amazing in creating scholarship funds for camp based on the sales of this knife! Thanks, Josh!

The current deal on these knives for the Buffalo Cove community is $300. $100 of the cost is a donation to Camp, and you will receive a donation letter for your taxes since we are a 501c3. Let me know if you’re interested.

4) BCEOC Wish List. Things that we are putting the word out for:

  • an LP gas range/oven in good working order

  • a refrigerator in good working order

  • filing cabinets

  • plates, bowls, mugs

  • backpacking/camping equipment and clothing (in good condition)

All donations to Buffalo Cove are tax deductible. Thanks, y’all! I look forward to crossing paths soon!

All the best,

Nathan Roark
