Councilman Glover, with the support of Mayor Brandon Scott, had the privilege and honor to provide Uncle T & Challenge 2 Change with funding to continue the work of the program which is helping to change the lives of youth in District 13 and across the city of Baltimore. Challenge 2 change mission is to empower Baltimore City youth, ages 7-24 with knowledge of self to prepare them for life, leadership, and wealth through mentorship, conflict resolution, and youth development activities.

Coming Soon: A Mural Project!

Councilman Glover is partnering with The Eastern District Police Department, Broadway East Community Association, and Councilman Robert Stokes to address the blight on Montford Street in Broadway East. They met to discuss the details of the project and partnership. This project not only includes a memorial mural, but a revitalization of the streetscape in the area.

All Hands On Deck

Unfortunately, this month has seen an uptick in violent crime. Councilman Glover remains committed to working with Baltimore City Police, City Agencies, and grassroots organizations in the city, to come up with an effective strategy to fight crime. Councilman Glover knows it takes all of us to do our part to help curb the violence. He promises to continue to engage the community, and host events to bring unity through our district and city. If you know anything that will lead to an arrest in any of the homicides that happened in District 13, call 1-866-7-Lockup

For Your Information

Brrr!!! January has been a very cold month!

With the brutal cold that we have been facing this month, it is important to know how to stay warm and protected. The Baltimore City Health Department issues Cold Blue days to assist in protecting our most vulnerable populations. The Baltimore City Community Action Partnership provides subsidies to assist low-income residents with heating bills.  Individuals who have questions or need help paying their heating bills should call 410-396-5555.

If you are age 65+ and need help with repairs on your home

The Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS) program serves residents of Baltimore. Social Workers based at five HUBS sites will provide application assistance to older adults to determine home improvements that will make their houses healthier and more secure

Older adults may be eligible for:  Home Safety Improvements (e.g., grab bars, handrails), Home Rehab Services (e.g., roof repair, plumbing repair), Energy Efficiency Modifications (e.g., LED and CFL light bulbs), Weatherization Services (e.g., insulation, caulking of foundation)

Contact the HUBS Coordinator, Chelsea Hayman, at Civic Works to determine your service area. The HUBS Coordinator can be reached at 443-470-9871.
