OCTOBER UPDATES

Welcome to the 7th Annual Yeti Trans NZ - Presented by RideWrap - 6 Day Enduro. What a year it's been. Thanks for helping keep the event alive with this special edition of NZ riders only. It's going to be a good one that's for sure!  Super chill and some good times on bikes!  We still do need a few more numbers though, so go do some sweet talking to your buddies and drag them along for the ride too!

We also added an e-bike category just for this year!  Don't be a hater, there are many great riders out there that are on e-bikes due to injury or knee surgery or heath conditions but still love to ride and rip with their buddies, so if you have someone in your friends circles in this situation, let them know that this is their lucky year to be able to come do the event!  We are also hoping it will help boost numbers to keep the event successful and alive during Covid!

As we go into our 7th year, I want to say a huge thanks to Kashi at Yeti Cycles NZ for being on board at Title Sponsor with us for the past 7 years. The partnership has sure been incredible and greatly appreciated!  I would also like to welcome our new Presenting Sponsor of RideWrap. You will get to sample some of their bike protection products during the event!

Booking Travel

If you are super keen to start booking travel now, then make sure you are booking flights that are refundable or transferable. With the country and world still in the unknown, I want to make sure you protect yourselves and bookings!  Find below details on arrival and departure:

ARRIVAL:

  • Saturday February 27th is arrival day into Christchurch
  • You have 3 options for arrival on this day:
    • Downtown Christchurch Pickup
    • Christchurch Airport Pickup
    • Self Arrival to Castle Hill - Craigieburn
  • We will be doing a Downtown Christchurch pick up out front of YMCA 12 Hereford Street at around 10.30am meet and start loading for an 11am departure
  • Christchurch Airport pickups will run all day from around 10am until the last van that will leave around 4.30pm. Vans just leave as they are full.
  • Book no flights that land any later then 3.30pm
  • Its a 1hr 15min drive into the mountain from there
  • If you want to self drive you can, and then drive yourself from Craigieburn to Queenstown on our move day (day 2)

DEPARTURE:

  • Saturday March 6th is departure day out of Queenstown
    1. OPTION 1: The best option is to book your return flight out of Queenstown Airport - this will save you the 7hr+ return shuttle to Christchurch
    2. OPTION 2: Get the return shuttle back to Christchurch. These leave around 9am getting you back to the Christchurch Airport at around 4pm. So don't book any return flights out of Christchurch that day before around 6-7pm
  • Return shuttles to Christchurch are included in your entry
  • We however do not supply airport transfers to Queenstown Airport on departure day as all our vans go back to Christchurch and most people stay in Queenstown another day or 2. I will let you know if this changes closer to the time
  • You can book the Queenstown Airport Super Shuttle for pretty cheap https://www.supershuttle.co.nz

Domestic Travel Insurance

Although domestic travel insurance doesn't cover Covid related cancellations (your entry is covered by us if we have to cancel due to Covid) - Domestic travel insurance is still good to get if you have to cancel due to injury or sickness or similar. Take a look at this company and see what they cover. I believe it's only like $30 to get coverage for yourselves through them to cover the cost of your $2400-$2650 entry (well worth it!).

Trans NZ Cancellation Policy:

  • 75% Refundable if you choose to cancel your registration by Dec 1, 2020
  • 60% Refundable if you choose to cancel your registration by Jan 1, 2021
  • Non Refundable after Jan 1, 2021

If we cancel due to Covid Policies/restriction levels, you have the choice to transfer your entry to our backup dates of Dec 12-17, 2021 or get a full refund minus a $100 admin fee.

I think that is it for now. I hope you are all enjoying the start to the summer riding season. ðŸ¤˜
