| | What We're All About Our MISSION is to save animal lives and make a difference by providing compassionate care, loving homes, and empowering and engaging pet parents and the community with low-cost services, resources and education. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency, not funded or controlled by any government or national animal welfare organization. All of our programs, low-cost services and community education services are funded through donations, fundraising, grants, endowments, donor trusts and service fees. | | |
| | Every month we have a special promotion for pet adoptions as we work hard to find forever homes for our animals of all breeds, ages, and adoptable conditions. | | |

60TH ANNIVERSARY RIBBON CHEWING |
In April, 1962, Victor Valley Animal Protective League (VVAPL) opened the very first animal shelter in the Victor Valley. Today we service a population of over 168,817 in our jurisdiction. In celebration of our 60th Anniversary, we hosted a Grand Reopening and Ribbon Chewing on May 12, 2022, with tours, adoption specials, staff meet and greet, and refreshments. During the ceremony, the new cattery was dedicated to long-time cat socializers and donors Steve and Linda Myers, and the LifeSaver Medical Fund was dedicated to the memory of board member Linda Ellsworth. VVAPL was also designated as a Historical Landmark in the Town of Apple Valley. We are thankful to all the community members who came out for our celebration, as well as the support from all past and present donors, staff, board members, adopters, and individuals and businesses that have helped us along the way to care for our animals of the High Desert. |

Luna Bear - An Adoption Determined to Happen |
Thanks to our incredible staff, veterinarians, and public support, VVAPL saved 2,413 animals January to November 2022 through adoptions, transfers to no-kill rescues, and returning pets to owners. |
For Jan-Nov 2022, our shelter fell just below the national average (92.2%) in saving healthy, adoptable animals from being euthanized for space. We need your help more than ever. Your support is invaluable to continue in this endeavor. THANK YOU! |

Our Programs Depend on Your Support! |
Our ability to save animals and continue to make a positive impact in their lives is dependent on donors throughout the High Desert and beyond |
| | Shelter/Adoption Maintaining an animal shelter requires funding to adequately staff, clean, purchase supplies, and provide medical treatment to ensure our animals are well cared for until they acquire loving homes. Our newest addition is a cattery where prospective adopters can sit and interact with our furry felines. | | |
| | Low-Cost Clinic Services With rising costs happening all around, VVAPL is not immune to the financial strain as we deal with increases in food, medication, and supplies. Donations allow us to keep adequate inventory and staff to provide vaccinations and spay/neuter services to public pets at one of the lowest costs in the High Desert. | | |
| | Education We strive to educate the community on responsible pet ownership to help cut down on pet overpopulation and abuse while furthering the importance of microchipping pets and the benefits of spay/neutering. While Covid-19 has kept us away from more in-person events, we hope to interact more with the community in 2023. | | |
| | Linda Ellsworth LifeSaver Medical Fund Without community support, we cannot treat homeless animals in need of extreme medical care for conditions such as snake bites, amputations, infections, and broken bones that might otherwise result in euthanasia. Your donations give our precious animals a second chance at finding a forever family they can call their own. | | |
