FIRST MEETING SINCE COVID! OCTOBER 12TH ON ZOOM!

For the near future, we will be conducting our monthly meetings via ZOOM. We have made adjustments to our meeting times, making it easy for our ACTIVES to join us.

We will have our board meeting at 3pm. You are welcome to watch & listen in. The actual program will begin at 4pm. Our guest will be Jill Fineis, Principal at Pinnacles Prep (the new charter school in Wenatchee). There will be opportunity to ask questions.

President's Message

Thank you ACTIVES for all the adjustments you are making for students. CDSRA is making adjustments as well. Rather than luncheon meetings the 2nd Mondays of the month, we will soon be zooming. In the past the board met at 10am, with lunch and guest speaker(s) at noon.

We have changed the time of our meetings to encourage our active members to attend our scheduled zoom meetings. Our board meetings will be 3pm, and our speaker(s) at 4pm. Check out the above article on how to join us.

Also active members, a mini-grant application should be coming to your mailbox soon. If you have a colleague interested in a mini-grant, it's easy, just have them join CDSRA. As a member of CDSRA, they can apply for a mini-grant. For more information on how to become a member - contact JoAnn Lewis, Sharon Salley, or visit our website.

In the meantime - take care of yourself, be safe, and VOTE!

WSSR-PAC Political Endorsements

The mission of the Chelan Douglas SRA is to secure and protect retirees' benefits.

The WSSR-PAC Board met and distributed endorsements and Political Action Committee (PAC) money. Here are the endorsed candidates who will be on your ballot and why they were endorsed.

Governor Jay Inslee: He kept the WSSRA's hard fought cost of living increase for Plan 1 Retirees in the budget when slashing the budge was necessary. Therefore, he received the WSSR-PAC endorsement.

All three of our current District 12 legislators Senator Brad Hawkins, Representative Mike Steele, and Representative Keith Goehner have been champions for the WSSRA goals and voted to pass the cost of living increase for Plan 1 Retirees. Therefore all three received endorsements from the WSSR-PAC.

If you have questions about this process, please contact Denise Perkins (509-884-8587) or Mary Perkins (509-884-7671)

If you need help: Be aware, you should be receiving a CUSTOMIZED letter with your October "For Your Benefits" newsletter. Be sure to study and keep it. It will help you at this meeting and in making your choice.

There will be a question and answer time after the presentation.

Here's why:

The PEBB Board has approved the Non-Medicare and Medicare Retiree premiums for 2021 as follows:

  • Uniform Medical Plan-Classic Medicare (UMP) premium will rise by $15.76 per month (4.9%) while most other plans will have modest increases. The premium increases to UMP continue to be driven by the high cost of brand name specialty drugs.
  • Medicare retirees will have the possibilities of selecting from one of two new Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug (MA-PD) Plans.

These plans offer lower premiums and no difference between in-network and out-of-network services; but may not be the right fit for those with a chronic condition or complex prescription regimens.
