March poetry madness is coming!

I hope this finds you well. Poetry is in bloom! I'm ready to spring into new work and look forward to sharing it with you at upcoming events. There is so much to celebrate, big and small, and I'm glad you are here. Just glad you can be. I was watching the Fred Rogers documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? and one quote in particular stuck with me: “You don't ever have to do anything sensational for people to love you.” Click here to watch the 2002 Dartmouth College commencement address the quote is from. We can get caught in social media post likes and award season glitter and forget that we are enough. Just as we are. Enough. I hope you carry this with you into the next breath, stillness, and as you dare to lean into creation. Thank you for sharing your unique voice. It was more than enough.

Onward with love,

Amanda

"Amanda Johnston’s first book sings with the passion of our great warrior poets. They reassure me of a fierce connective tissue between us. Johnston’s poems apply just the right degree of salve and just the right degree of fire to our current American wounds."
