HOSPITAL ENCOUNTER
God put it on our hearts to go to the hospital yesterday to visit one woman specifically and pray with her….
Well, we went to her room and there was a different name there. She was no longer staying at the hospital, but we KNEW God had us there for someone!!!
As we prayed and walked down the hall, we saw an older gentleman sitting in his room, looking quite lonely. God's compassion came over me and I felt so much love for him. After starting a conversation, and giving him the flowers (that were meant as a gift for the other lady) we asked if we could pray!
He was super open and let us pray! I then began sharing the GOSPEL. What Christmas is all about! He told me, “You know, I’ve had a good life. It’s been easy. I haven’t needed God, so why would that change now?”
My heart broke. Here we were, sharing God's love with him and he didn’t want to receive it. God had brought us there, JUST for him!!! I kept pushing as the Holy Spirit told me to, and shared about the REALITY OF ETERNITY.
I said, well that’s amazing that your life has been easy…. But don’t you want to believe there’s LIFE after death also? I shared about heaven & hell and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. It’s ONLY through Jesus we can be saved and have relationship with God and receive eternal life.
It’s not about whether you have a good life or not……. How will you stand before a HOLY and just God when you die one day? We’ve ALL fallen short of the glory of God, and we can’t make it into heaven on our own goodness. We NEED Jesus, and TRUE relationship with Him…. Not religion
