Hello everyone, We're a day or two late this week, but we will try hard, really, to get back on time! We have, however, been doing some big updates on the lunch, high tea and dinner listings on the site, clearing out old deals and adding in the new ones. There's a lot of musical events coming up over the next couple of weeks and we've tried to capture the big ones for you. There's also a couple of new food promotions and other events - some are only around for a few days so don't miss out. Some places still like to announce their evening activities just the day before so do please check our website from time to time, to see the latest. Meal Deals and Food Offers Chambers at Park Street Mews has a Turkish Food promotion - but you have to be quick as it is on 01-04 September only. They are offering treats such as Dolma, Spiced Meatballs, Imam Baylidi and more. These special treats are available for lunch or dinner, with dinner sittings being at 7.00pm or 9.00pm. But be quick, it's only on for four days and one day is gone already! There is also a new Crab promotion at The Kingsbury's Ocean restaurant offering a range of classic crab dishes such as Jaffna Crab Curry, Singapore Chili Crab, Salted Egg Crab and more. The promotion will be available until further notice, so it's probably better not to delay, grab it while you can. And for a fine evening of Sri Lankan food and more, Cinnamon Lakeside are hosting a Sri Lankan Evening on Saturday in The Library with a buffet including live hopper and kottu stations and entertainment, starting from 7.00pm, Baker's Blend launched their new Takeaway menu on 31st August. lunch time kottu or fried rice starts from Rs550, burgers and subs from Rs700 and other specialities. The Executive Lunch at the Mandarina is back on, with a buffet available from 12.00 midday to 2.00pm priced at Rs1,900 nett per person. The Thali lunch option is also still available. | | |

Drinks Deals There's a new happy hour at Marino Beach, buy one get one free cocktails priced at Rs1800 each (so for two, of course). Cocktail options include a "Ladies First" based on brandy and chocolate , or a "Snifter" with rum, blackberry and mint. There are also buy one get one free beer deals starting with mugs at Rs750. These really are "Happy Hour", available from 4.30pm to 5.30pm and until 30 Septmber. There's also a new happy hour offer at Botanik, with 40% off all drinks from 4.00pm to 7.00pm every day. Yes, that's all drinks and every day, so good for pre dinner drinks, and to get ready for the DJs and after hours funk and hip hop party. | | |

Live Music and DJs There's a lot of big music events coming up in the next couple of weeks. This Friday at the Cinnamon Lakeside Pool Terrace, "JockJam" features BNS, Wasthi, Nadini, DJ E2 and Sarith & Surith and The News. Meanwhile "I Feel Good" will be taking place at the CH&FC with Chitral, Annesley and Ohme. This Friday, Level 4 are celebrating their second anniversary - Congratulations! They are holding a party in the evening from 8.30pm with prizes through the night and live music from Backline. Next week, on Friday 9 September, "Hathe Hatha" sees an extensive lineup of Dinesh, Supun, Wasthi, Kanchana, Sahan, Samanalee, Sanka and Kaizer, at BMICH. Also next Friday, "Cinderella" at Excel World will see Wasthi, BNS, Sajitha, Kanchana and Dinesh, with MidLane. Yes it looks like some of these artists will take to two stages in one evening, let's hope traffic between the two will be clear! Next Sunday, 11 September, "Sundown Chatz at The Edge" features Umara and Lahiru with Black, at Water's Edge. Other music news and if you enjoy the band Footprints on the Moon, they are now performing every evening at the Kingsbury Sky Lounge, till midnight. The Colombo Wind Orchestra will have a performance on Friday 9 September at the Wendt Theatre performing a variety of pieces, conducted by Keiko Kobayashi; this starts at 7.00pm. On to EDM and DJ Music, Friday will be Friyay at Asylum with DJ Ishan on the decks while it wil be Fridaze at the Travelling Bruncher with DJ Madaid. Saturday night is VIP night at Butler's with "Namma Colombo", an evening of beats from DJ Arun. Looking ahead, on 16 September, "Secret Series" at Travelling Bruncher will feature sets by 10 DJs including Noiyse Project, Kyotto and Dr Green. On 17 September, "Inscape" at Kava Bar will feature seven DJs including Jayy Vibes and Echo Daft. | | |

Other Events This Friday evening, Sayura House is hosting Crepes, Poke and Games: enjoy a poke bowl, a crepe (or both) accompanied by some fun games. This starts at 6.00pm. Art lovers: "Incarnation", an exhibition of works by Thisuri Jayarthna, will be at Gallery FourLife for one day only, on Saturday 3 September, from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Let the kids learn about Sustainability and sustainable creativity this Saturday 03 September at Crescat Boulevard from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, for ages 5 to 10. On Monday 5 September, "Bonjour Cinema" returns with the classic French film "Conte d'ete", or "A Summer's Tale". This will be screened at Regal Cinema in Dematagoda at 7.00pm. And Standup Comedy with Amila de Alwis will be back on Wednesday, 7 September, at In...on the Green, starting from 7.00pm. | | |
