Dear Friends,
JOIN US - DW Sunday, Public Teaching Series in September focuses on ancient practices for our modern time - times of turmoil, challenge, uncertainty, and confusion. Each of the Sundays described below includes a teaching, transmission, and brief group practice.
Sept 13 - Guru Yoga of Machik Labdron
Guru Yoga of Machik Labdron, A Prayer Song to Mother Labkyi Dronma was composed
by one of the greatest Mahamudra masters in the 17th century, Karma Chakme. It is a short and yet profound prayer to Machik Labdron, awakened Tibetan yogini and founder of Chö in the 12th century. This concise beautiful practice includes Mahamudra pointing-out instructions as well as guru yoga and a review of the awakening path. This can be integrated into your daily meditation.
Sept 20 - Machik's Five Slogans & Tonglen
These five powerful slogans were originally taught to Machik by Padampa Sangye, the founder of the Pacifying-Suffering tradition. They express the essential approach of Chö and teach us how to fearlessly live our practice. The teaching presents us with much-needed wisdom that helps us face the challenges we are currently experiencing personally and globally.
Sept 27 - Cho: Fierce Tonglen - The Seven PEs
Chö is, in essence, a courageous and fierce practice of Taking-Giving, Tonglen. The Seven PEs is the most concise version of Chö practice in the Ear-Whispered Lineage tradition. This practice gradually leads us to a radical paradigm shift in our approach and attitude to whatever arises in our daily lives. This can be integrated into your daily Chö meditation.
