The Three Peaks Yacht Race

Not Long Until the Start Now ...

Yes, there is just over a week to the start of our 41st race and this is our last newsletter before the off!

We've been busy updating all the profile pages for the teams, including adding in all their IRC ratings, links to charity fundraising pages, and a few more photos.

You can read all about the teams here.

New Sponsors On Board

Our sponsors this year are Exposure Lights and Bruichladdich Whisky, who will be contributing to the teams goody bags and offering prizes for the winners.

Exposure Lights are the makers of high quality specialist outdoor, bike and marine lighting - perfect for all aspects of our race.

Bruichladdich single malt needs no introduction, and the teams pass close by the Islay distillery on the race. Their website at the moment tells me the wind is 0mph - lets hope that changes!

The race is also generously supported by both Barmouth Town Council and Gwynedd Events.

Up For The Challenge

For the first time this year we are running the non-competitive Three Peaks Yacht Race Challenge alongside the race.

There is are a few less rules but its still the same route and as much of a challenge as ever, and we're delighted to have 3 teams in this new category.

You can read about them here.

How to Follow the Race

Once again we'll have regular news reports, satellite tracking and lots of photos throughout the race.  Hopefully a few videos as well.

You can find them all in one place - HERE.

Bookmark the page and follow the teams all the way to Ben Nevis!

There will be lots of posts and photos on our Facebook page too.

If you want some reading before the race we've recently added an article called 'In The Spirit of Tilman' by race journalist Rob Howard.

Next Year's Date

Yes, we already have the race date for next year - so you can get it in your diaries and start sorting out a team nice and early!

It's on June 15th 2019.

If you are coming along on June 9th get there early to enjoy the atmosphere on The Quay, and if you can't be there in person please join us online to follow the race and challenge.

Yours in adventure,
