MEET A VOLUNTEER Melissa Overall is from Spring, TX and when she’s not volunteering, she is spending time with her three sons. They spend a lot of time with their football organization, where she also volunteers. She has always felt very strongly about car seat and seat belt safety. Kailee’s beautiful smile first attracted her to our cause and when she found out there would be a foundation set up in her memory, she knew she wanted to be involved right away.
Melissa would like people to understand that the organization has plans to offer scholarships to students who have lost a parent or sibling in a car accident. “Yes, it’s about seat belt awareness, but there’s also big plans to come.”
When asked what motivates Melissa to stay involved she said, “Wendy and David really motivate me to stay involved. They are so inspiring. Even in such a painful time, they have already prevented other families from experiencing the same. The way they have really gotten out there in such a short amount of time and have already made such an impact.”
Melissa’s Message:
“The message I’d like to share is simple, I tell my boys all the time, buckle as soon as you get in the car and stay buckled the whole time. Even when you are sitting at a red light you have to stay buckled, it doesn’t matter if your vehicle is stopped, any car around you could hit you at any time. Stay buckled till you are parked.”
We are so happy to have Melissa volunteering for our foundation and getting the message out there by sharing Kailee’s story. With her help, and may other volunteers, we will continue to save lives. |

Kailee's Angels We are honoring a sweet angel, Megan Mischelle Miller, who lost her life on March 19, 2006 after being ejected from the vehicle. She was 17 years old. Her family put any strength they had left into spreading awareness about seat belt safety in Kentucky, and it gave us so much happiness to see that another family is on the same mission that we are! Please watch the video below to learn more about Megan's story and the impact she is having in Kentucky. #BuckleUp4Meagan |
