MARCH NEWSLETTER

2018

The Catholic Business Women's League awarded three $12,000 scholarships to Nashville's three Catholic high schools recently.

The scholarships, which are a centerpiece work for the league, were the largest the league has awarded since it began in 1949. Thanks to one of the most successful Pearls of Wisdom luncheon and auctions, the league was able to increase the scholarship amounts to help fund the Catholic education of three local high school girls.

New Event: NCBWL Business Expo

The April meeting this year will be an exciting new opportunity to learn about members (and non-members) businesses and professions. All are welcome to attend. Members are asked to bring a bottle of wine and an appetizer to share with guests. Those members who would like to promote their business, can rent an exhibitor table for the event. Tables are $50 for members ($75 after March 18) and $100 for non-members. We will be advertising the event in all the local church bulletins, the high school newsletters and more. We hope to bring a great crowd of women together to network, learn about each other's business and support each other's endeavors.

We are asking every member to invite friends or family members to attend this event. Download the flier with the button link below to share with others or to place in your church or school.

Note from the President

Springtime in Tennessee, my favorite time of year. And the earlier the better, right? For those of you who were able to join us Feb. 21, you know we had a wonderful time being entertained and informed by Claudia and Pete Weber. They were such a delight to have with us. And we even had a drawing for a pair of tickets to the next Predators game.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: CINDY CHURCH

Cindy Hinton Church was used to having people tell her she had “missed her calling” as a comedian. One day it occurred to her that if she was still living and breathing she could rectify the “missed calling” situation. In 2011 she enrolled in comedy writing and performance classes at Rik Robert’s School of Laughs at Zanies in Nashville. She immediately found her comedic voice and has not stopped performing since. She is also in her second year as a facilitator for Surviving Divorce - an exciting new ministry that will bring hope and healing to those Catholics who have experienced the pain and loneliness of a broken marriage.
