Ringing in the New Year!!!

Depending on where you live, Christmas this year may have been less merry and more mayhem! The storm gave us four days of snow and howling winds that made as big a mess around the farm as it did of our holiday plans. In the end we were able to get together with family and spoil the kids with gifts we could only dream of when I was little. That's the idea right?

With Christmas in the rear view, we look to the new year ahead. New Beginnings! Fresh Start! Clean Slate!

What will your resolution be?

For most of us, whether we openly admit setting a new years resolution or not, we will try to get back to our normal routines. Come out of the sugar coma Christmas put us in. Clean up our diet that turned into a dumpster fire since Thanksgiving! That one is me!!

For those of us that do make new year resolutions, why do we fail??

The biggest reason our grand broad resolutions fail is we set lofty goals that only serve to discourage and frustrate us. 23% of Americans last year made resolutions about living healthier. That's a great goal but what does that mean?? For most of us that breaks down to two areas, diet and exercise. To me diet is the one that we need to focus on. We were going to eat anyway, lets do a better job of it!!!

"To eat is a necessity, to eat intelligently is an art."

Francois De La Rochefoucould

Lets kick off 2023 by choosing to eat intelligently!!!!

We are what we eat! We've all heard that a thousand times. Our family has been blessed with good health for many years. Why??? Luck, maybe. We like to think the choices we make have played a large role too! We grow much of our own food. Nearly all of the meat our family eats comes from our farm. The same meat we offer to our customers, and that point is very important to us!!!

If we can produce beef and lamb off only native grass, why would we do it any other way? If we can raise pigs outside on pasture and organic grains without corn or soy, why would we do it any other way?

We don't need to worry about all the decision about whether hormones, fertilizer, herbicides and antibiotics are safe or not. Not even a concern for us!!

The less outside influence goes into producing the food we eat, the more intelligently we are eating in my opinion.

Let every meal in 2023 be your next chance to make a better food choice. We would love to help you make better choices when it comes to the meats you and your families eat. Have questions? Great!! We'll gladly help in anyway we can as you make intelligent food choice a priority!

Happy New Year!!
