FEBRUARY 2021

Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians | Denver Division | Founded 2000

A Message From Our President

Greetings, Sisters!

Our Founding President, Louise Donovan is leading the Denver LAOH Officer Search Committee, and she'll need 2-3 sisters to help her scout out potential Officers for the next 2-year term (2022-2023). This will involve an occasional call with Louise and making some phone calls to talk with people. Please let me or Louise know if you'd like to help!

We need a draft slate of Officer candidates by July, and a firm slate by September, because our Election is in November, and we do not meet in May, August and October. It is really fun to serve on the Board! You get to guide the direction of our organization! To be an Officer on the Executive Board, you only need to have been a member for one year (or attended 6 meetings). For a non-Board Officer position, you need to have been a member for only four months (or 4 meetings).  Please look at the listing of Officer/Chair positions at the end of every Agenda, and consider stepping up. Officer rotation is also very healthy - if you're serving now - THANKS! - what other position would you like to try?

God Bless and Stay Well!

In Friendship, Unity & Christian Charity,

Sheila

Cultural Note:

Imbolc, or the ancient celebration of the Irish first day of Spring on the first of February, might be derived from the phrase 'i mbolg' which means 'in the belly', as it is a time when all that will blossom in Bealtaine (the first of May) begins to take root and prepare to grow.
