CIST SERVING SCHOOLS

June has marked the start of our Year 6 transition workshops. This year, we will have worked with 1,600 Year 6 pupils across Stockport during the second Summer half-term, encouraging them to think about their star qualities and how they are more than ready for the exciting journey ahead of them. We are hosting our ‘It’s Your Space’ prayer spaces in a number of schools and Year 6 pupils are having fun reflecting on their time at primary schools and their hopes and dreams for the future.

Our new dossiers have been sent to our schools and we are busy taking bookings for 2024-25!

Our secondary school groups have an increasing number of pupils attending. They are making good use of their prayer boxes and enjoying discussions on topics they’ve suggested. We are looking forward to running some new prayer spaces in our secondary schools next academic year.

CIST PARTNERING CHURCHES

This month, we joined with the fellowship at Stockport Sunday School on their Founder’s Day celebrations and gave them an update on our work. It was great to hear about how they have supported education throughout the years and continue to do so.

All Saints, Cheadle Hulme played host to our ‘Environment Space’ for three Year 6 classes from Hursthead Primary School- thank you to Rev Sarah Hancock and the team for allowing us to use your beautiful church.

St Chad’s, Handforth have kindly provided ‘It’s Your Move’ booklets for Year 6 pupils at Wilmslow Academy and Handforth Grange primary schools as part of our ‘It’s Your Move’ workshop. Thanks to Rev Richard Reeve for joining us as we delivered the sessions. We also teamed up with St Mary’s, Cheadle to provide booklets for pupils at Cheadle Primary.

We enjoyed supporting Trinity Church Cheadle’s RISE event, where children took part in craft activities, games and story-telling all about the miracles of Jesus. It was lovely to see so many attending and some familiar faces of children we also meet in our schools.

Thank you to everyone who supports us in any way- we couldn't do what we do without you!

PRAYER POINTS

  • Please pray for Year 6 pupils as many of them visit their new schools on Thursday 4th July.
