Latest Art News

by Andra Daans

Dear Art Lover,

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. My upcoming exhibition, "Pain of Slavery," and the captivating "I Am" Solo Series are set to grace the cities of Detroit and Chicago, curated by the esteemed Blackbird Gallery and the talented Pamela Eatman.

Exhibition Details:

"Pain of Slavery" Exhibition: This exhibition is set to challenge perceptions, provoke emotions, and evoke conversations that matter. Through a powerful fusion of artistry and storytelling, it delves deep into the complex nuances of human history. However, “The Pain of Slavery” goes beyond the past and also focuses on the present. It is distressing that we still know too little about child slavery, which is why I decided to give these enslaved children a face. Although slavery has been abolished, poverty has sustained new forms of slavery worldwide. Once again, children are the primary victims, deprived of a voice and a face. My goal with this exhibition is not only to tell the history of slavery but also to show that slavery still exists in a modern form.

"I Am" Solo Series: Exploring the Rights of the Child. The artworks will lead you to confront not only the joys, struggles, dreams, and aspirations that shape us as individuals but also the importance of safeguarding the rights and well-being of every child.

With "I Am," we aim to shed light on the significance of cherishing and nurturing the young minds that will shape the future of our world. The artworks blend artistry with advocacy, making this exhibition a compelling platform to create awareness and inspire positive change.
