Bene-dizione, male-dizione. |

Did you know? In Italy, only 4 Conservatories out of almost 100 teach my specific subject (although not nearly as scientifically, or if you prefer as maniacally, as I do): in 96% of schools, the hordes of foreign students who come to Italy for a proper Belcanto training are only provided with modern Italian language classes, thanks to which they learn how to fluently ask for an espresso (to a bartender who is likely fluent in English), to later return to their homelands with no clue on how to sculpt the Verdian parola scenica, or how to decode and nail Metastasio's and Da Ponte's language clockworks, so to make some sense of the vocal technique they'll have only passively learned, replaying it by the ear. Brava, la mia Italia, brava. Someone had to do something about it, so I did. |

You use Italian prosody and vowels daily, beginning with your very warm-ups: the better they are, the better they'll serve you. Your pitch, color, coloratura, phrasing, ornaments, legato and appoggio depend on your diction. I'll be happy to help you keep them -and yourself, your voice and your art- in proper shape. We can only succeed in this together and this is how we begin: |

Time to take action. Check out what's in the library, help me grow it, support this quite unique labour of love. Then check out the plans I have made for all types of necessities (after 12 years in the business, I've learnt to know them well). They are sustainable and never as convenient as now, for the prices will be adjusted as the ARKive expands. The current ones will be locked till next Monday, February 28th. For more requests and info, just hit "reply" to this email.
Much love, La Maestra |

Anna, seriously? I love you, but COME ON! If you were my student, or had ever used my ARKive recordings, you would know: you DOUBLE after monosyllabic verbs, it's vaFFan****! (Not a chance the man will truly f* off if you put no double f in the spell, sorry. The proverbial it's not what you said, it's how you said it.) Benedizione, maledizione: keep it in mind, guys, for whether it's a blessing or a curse, it's always about the effin' DICTION. Play the following previews to see how it's done: |
