Hi! I finally printed my Hanukkah book, "Hanukkah in Your Hands" on Wednesday and shipped my first orders out this week. It took a lot of late nights to get it done! It's totally self published and I'm really proud of it! Now I am trying to get it in people's hands! When I had the final proof, I walked past the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia. I walked into their retail shop on a whim and somehow sold them on a dozen books! I also sold my books at an art fair and got great feedback. People loved the variety of illustrations, the format, the writing, and the diverse characters. See a teaser of the book below, a special offer, and some other pictures from the week. My designs for the Bark Mitzvah were put to use this weekend. And, to mix it up, see one of my favorite couple's portraits! Enjoy! If you're new to Danielle in Doodles, welcome! I publish this newsletter of my latest doodles and updates most Sundays, and you can see archives here. |

My new book is now officially in print, in my hands! It's an all-in-one engaging guide to Hanukkah with the story, the rules, recipes, fun facts, and personal narratives — all told with illustrations and cartoons available in print and as an ebook. It's great for kids, families, adults, even non-Jews! Buy this week and I'll include one of the glossy, hilarious cards from my partner, Menschions, for free. | | |

I showcased my books as a vendor at a Hanukkah art fair at Chevra Ahavas Yisroel, a temple in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I met nice people (except the guy who said "Who even reads books?"), sold a couple of books (I even signed them!) and cards, and got a portrait by Yosef Itzkowitz. Now my dad, who has been drawing lately, wants to try doing a portrait of me, too. I'll take it! |

Last month I shared that I was hired to draw and design a poster for an event called Bark Mitzvah in San Francisco. I really enjoyed working on the project! The event was Friday and Saturday, and they also used additional images I made for the photo booth. And, I was included in the press release! |

I drew this a while ago and am finally sharing it. It's one of my favorite couple portraits because, well, I'm in it! :) Right before this photo was taken I tripped on a small bush in front of his friends and got a cut that bled, which then got very infected. So romantic! This story was part of a doodle about my dating fails. |

Thanks for reading! Thanks to many of you who have ordered books, I really appreciate it!! All the support helps. If you haven't yet, order soon to get it in time for Hanukkah (starts 11/28). Share pictures once you get your orders and tell me what you think! I'm in full promotion mode this week. Wish me luck and spread the word! If there's a community you think would like it or a local Hanukkah fair you know of, let me know! |
