David Fagan
David is an author, media adviser and company director whose career is founded on more than 30 years in political and business journalism, the last decade as editor or editor-in-chief of Queensland’s largest news publication, The Courier-Mail. Before leaving, he held editorial authority over New Corporation’s 42 Queensland publications.
Since then, he has filled executive roles in the higher education and superannuation industries and has written or co-written four books: Wake Up - The Nine H#shtags of Digital Disruption, Has The Luck Run Out?, The Springfield Story and The Governors of Modern Queensland. He sits on the boards of Carers Queensland and the Royal National Association, chairs the Data Ethics Panel of the Local Government Association of Qld and conducts adjudication for the Australian Press Council. He is an adjunct professor in the QUT Business School.
He has moderated numerous discussions about matters of public interest in these various roles and is ideally suited to steer the Big Dialogue on democracy.
