REVEALING THE COVER OF MY BOOK

Being on the organ transplant waitlist, like my husband was for more than two years, means that as a patient, you are waiting for a perfect match at the perfect time from an anonymous deceased donor. A deceased donor is a special someone who, prior to their tragic accident which left them medically brain dead, either signed up online at www.donatelife.net or checked the box "organ donor" on their license plate indicating consent.

As a registered organ donor, I believe that if something tragic happens to my body, then I want my healthy organs to be procured and transplanted into someone else's body so they can survive and have a better quality of life. It is one thing to discuss organ donation and transplantation as a concept, but it is another to experience the journey first-hand. In my soon-to-be-published book, Saved by a Stranger, which tells our journey through my husband's liver transplant as well as other's stories of survival, I wanted the cover artwork to convey a sense of desperation, hope, unselfishness, and transformation. Designer, Roseanna M. White, captured this beautifully.

I present to you the front cover of Saved by a Stranger.
