  • Mental health Support is continuing through the Counselling and Therapy team. There are telephone and online sessions also available.

Friday morning men’s group offers a consistent open space for men of any age and background. A warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed from our two experienced group leaders, Dave and Phil.

Walking for Wellbeing

MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH OUTDOOR SUPPORT GROUP

Thursday ~ 12pm

Starting Thursday 1st April

 

  • A chance to make the most of our natural surroundings in a communal men’s walk.
  • Going out and about in the company of others can motivate us to go places we may not go when by ourselves.
  • With no pressure, or set agenda, it can be easier to talk and connect with others whilst walking.

Safe Haven bereavement support group 

Commencing 21-04-2021

 

Are you struggling with the loss of a loved one? Safe Haven bereavement support group can offer you a safe space to share common life experiences of grief and sharing experiences.

 

Who can join?

 

This group is suitable for anyone who has suffered the death of a loved one, whether that loved one be a child, a young person, parent, sibling, a close relative, friend, neighbour, or work colleague.

 

What is the format of the group?

 

This group is a closed group and will run for 5 weeks starting on 21-4-21 at 6.00pm for 90 minutes. The groups will consist of up to a maximum of 8 people who will meet together weekly via a zoom meeting. By donation.

Anxiety Management

Women’s Group, 6 week course

Starting April 13th Tuesday ~ 7.15 - 8.30pm

 

This six week course offers Women experiencing Anxiety an opportunity to meet and connect with other women in a safe, supportive and relaxed environment. The course is led by Joanna Williams, a highly experienced psychotherapist with a background in occupational therapy.

 

Sessions will incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy to improve understanding of Anxiety and how our thoughts and actions can influence this. From this foundation of understanding, you will be guided and supported to develop practical ways to help manage Anxiety and tackle life’s challenges in a healthy and more positive way!

 

The course is starting on Zoom. This course will be a blended approach. Online learning will aim to lead to a final session and opportunity to meet in person at the Centre.

Mindfulness Course

~The Present~

Starting Thursday 22nd April, for 6 weeks, 6pm - 7.30pm 

 

This 6 week course offers an introduction to mindfulness and well-being, encouraging a friendly, mindful awareness towards our experience in our busy lives. It weaves together mindfulness, wellbeing and neuroscience. The course supports exploration, discovery and awareness of how things are in our lives. Learning a variety of mindfulness practices can help you to:

- Cope positively with stress

- Learn to respond rather than react

- Improve relationships

- Recognise and interrupt self criticism, worry and negative thinking

- Improve concentration

- Notice and appreciate the good things in our lives

- Improve decision making

- Cultivate warmth and compassion towards yourself and others.

- Improve sleep

- Find balance in your life
