Please Don't Poop on the White Dress

How the FORK is it September already? Where did the summer go? I miss summer parties and gatherings, cooking for friends, and travel adventures. At least I got to ring the summer out in style with a fabulously-fashion-y Rooftop Garden Party collab with designer Viva Aviva. To shake up my usual routine of pajamas and yoga pants, I put on a white designer dress that looks like clouds of meringue, baked up a floral and ruffle inspired spread, and threw a quarantine party for me and the chickens.

The big takeaway? We don't need a special occasion to put on a poofy white dress. Take care of yourself! Treat yourself! There's enough negativity and shitty things happening in the world right now. Sometimes putting on a fancy dress and throwing yourself a party is just what you need to pull yourself out of a funk.

Oh and that funk... you know... the feeling of hopelessness, listlessness, lethargy, sleepiness, fear, and uncertainty? It's called "ACEDIA" -- a long lost 5th century word that exactly describes the emotion we're all feeling right now. I've been feeling it hard over the last month and finally being able to put a name to it definitely helps to pull myself out of the "noonday demon" pit of despair. You're not alone!

Cheers to fall and pumpkin spice season whether we're ready for it or not. Election Day is coming up, did you register to vote yet? Of course you did because you're all responsible human beings.

The iconic Black & White Cookie gets an upgrade with better ingredients. These cookies never did it for me, and I figured out why! I break it all down in a NEW EPISODE where I compare my version of the cookie with The New York Times recipe. Dare I say it? My version is SO MUCH BETTER. Boo-yah! Get the recipe, grab your ingredients, and make yourself some cookies.

This is not a bucket of fried chicken. This is waffle ice cream and a chocolate covered cookie “bone” covered in caramelized white chocolate, cornflakes and waffle cone bits.
