UPDATE

MAY 1, 2019

Temperatures are a little too low and rain threatens our Chicago HQ skies. But never mind! Everything is bright and cheery for Liv.

ABOUT US

Liv Labs was founded to address exercise incontinence. It’s a problem of involuntary pee leaks affecting nearly 1 in 4 American women over the age of 25—including many of you.

Liv was originally founded by CARLY PRICE, an award-winning designer of consumer products and services. Liv was born out of her belief that existing self-care solutions for exercise incontinence could be meaningfully improved and better publicized.

Designer ERIC PRICE has been a key player since the beginning. Today he manages the evolution of the product design and portfolio, optimizing performance, aesthetics, ease of use, materials, costs, and manufacturability.

MELODY ROBERTS joined Liv last year. As CEO she oversees strategy, fund-raising, and daily operations. Melody has developed new products, services, operational systems and innovation capabilities for national and global brands.

Board member TAD SIMONS rounds out the core leadership team. In addition to his deep expertise in the life sciences industry and his even deeper technical savvy, Tad brings an enthusiasm for customer-centricity.

Together—and with the expert help of some amazing outside partners—we have moved from Carly’s original insight to a fledgling business.

CARE TO INVEST?

We have recently shifted from product design to fund-raising among “friends, family, and fools.” We need to raise the capital required for final engineering, quality system build-out, regulatory approval, and a clinical study. If you have any interest to invest financially in our endeavor, or if you know someone else who would bring helpful expertise, now would be a great time to get in touch with Melody to discuss it.

A startup is nothing if not a learning journey. We are learning new things everyday. We encourage you to check out:

Understanding and Treating Incontinence This is a great primer on the topic of incontinence, written by Chicago-based expert, Sarah Haag, PT, DPT. Sarah is a Board-Certified Specialist in Women’s Health. You can purchase the book and watch a mini-video on what motivated her to write the book here.

Womanlab If a book feels too great a commitment, then we strongly recommend dipping in with an article or two at womanlab.org. Search “incontinence,” “vagina,” or “kegel” for posts at once informative and entertaining. Better yet, follow womanlab on twitter and facebook (@womanlab) - and never miss a new posting!
