Do We Have Bikes? Winter is just around the corner, and buying a new bike right now seems like a silly idea—it isn’t. With the uncertainty of what the industry will look like next year, we strongly recommend that you act now if you are in the market for a new bike! Most of our suppliers are warning us that next year, supply chain shortages might be worse than ever. We have a nice selection of 2021 bikes slated to arrive by years end. Give us a call or stop by to learn more. They’ll be gone quick! |

What's the Turnaround Time for a Repair? Currently, we are approximately 3-5 days out on a basic tune—call 541-719-1213 to schedule an appointment and expedite the process. Please note that certain parts are taking longer than usual to get because of increased demand and industry shortages. If you have broken parts or extraordinary repairs, we recommend bringing in your bike for the most accurate time frame quote. |

Rentals? Due to the uncertainty created by seemingly never-ending bicycle shortages, we have opted not to sell our 2021 rental fleet for the time being. Check our updates page every few months for any further announcements. Our little rental fleet of hardtails, full suspensions, and town bikes will remain rentable. Please call or visit the shop to learn more and reserve. |

Introducing SCOR Bikes! We are pleased to announce that we are now Oregon’s exclusive SCOR dealer! SCOR is a new Swiss mountain bike company fresh onto the scene, already making quite the name for themselves. “Imagine working in the R&D department of a bike company creating cutting-edge, high-performance road and XC bikes, but the riding you are most passionate about happens away from road stages and race tracks and you’re more interested in play than podiums. As it turns out you spend much of your day job daydreaming. For a few guys at Swiss bike brand BMC this was the position they found themselves in. They wanted a mountain bike that was focused on fun and would help them push their limits; whether that was playing on the steep, tight and technical trails in the local Jura Mountains, hitting the jumps at the nearby Chaumont bike park or exploring epic singletrack in the Swiss Alps.” Checkout SCOR’s Website to Learn More We’ll have our first SCOR bikes landing on the show floor later this month! Stop by the shop to chat if you’re interested. |

Sisters Trail Alliance (STA) September Update: From STA Trail Talk - September: After a highly successful Cascades 100 (that's 100 MILES) race, our friends at Alpine Running are hosting the Three Sisters Skyline Races on September 25 & 26. STA is again the beneficiary (that means they make a nice donation to us!) in exchange for running an aid station on each day. The Three Sisters Skyline Races include a half marathon on Saturday the 25th and a 50K on Sunday the 26th. STA supports this ride with one aid station on each day. Our aid station is located on Peterson Mill Road, about a 15 minute drive from Sisters. We'll need a pickup or large vehicle and two folks who can pick up supplies each morning and return them at the end of each race. We'll have a canopy (which we can leave up overnight Saturday), tables, water jugs and totes with food & supplies each day. We would like to have four people at the aid stations for each race as there are 200 runners expected each day. Aid station volunteers will help set up and tear down the aid station, record racers bib numbers as they come through, keep food and water supplied throughout the day and provide lots of encouragement! Volunteer Shifts: Saturday pick up supplies at Village Green, help set up the aid station: 8:15 am Saturday aid station: 8:30 am - 1 pm Saturday load and return supplies to Village Green: around 1 pm Sunday pick up supplies at Village Green, help with set up: 9:15 am Sunday two shifts: 9:30 am - 1 pm and 12:30 pm to 4 pm Sunday load and return supplies to Village Green: around 4 pm If you're interested in helping out please email your preferred day & time to Ann at info@sisterstrails.org. |

Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA) September Update: From COTA Trail News - September: COTA submitted a grant application to the Visit Bend Sustainability Fund, which will award $500,000 to organizations in “our local community working to protect, steward, and create sustainable recreational resources and outdoor experiences in Bend’s backyard.” Please cast your ballot for COTA’s Cascade View Trail project (located on the Eagle Crest side of Cline Butte). A portion of the Big Sky Bike Park is also on the list. Voting is rank-choice, so you have the ability to support both opportunities. We deeply believe in the recreational value of these projects and hope that you do too. The deadline to submit your ballot is September 8th - thanks for voting! Sisters Chapter Update: COTA continues to work with the Sisters Trail Alliance and the Forest Service to get new trails built in the Sisters area. In the meantime, COTA’s focus will be on Bike Park 242. With cooler days ahead, we are hoping to have some work events before Winter to get the skills park back into shape. Details will be posted soon on Meetup and the COTA events page. To join COTA and read more click here. |

Proving Grounds 2021 Final Recap Central Oregon recently hosted all the big names in the freeride mountain biking scene at the Oregon Dirt Park in Prineville. Being the last stop before the legendary Redbull Rampage, riders were throwing down left and right after a much too long 2 year halt in competition. Watch the video above to experience all the highlights! "Prineville, OR (September 11, 2021) - After an extended break, freeride mountain biking comes back to life in the US with the successful completion of the 2021 Proving Grounds competition today in Prineville, Oregon. For the first time in the event’s history, a men’s and women’s category graced the same lines, same jumps, and tackled the same conditions, together. When the sun set on the Oregon Dirt Park at the end of the day Carson Storch and Camila Nogueira stood atop the podium, trophy in hand, looking out towards the future of events returning to the calendar and freeride returning to the center of the cycling zeitgeist." Casey and his family were lucky enough to make it out to the competition (click here for some iconic family photos)! It's unreal to see some of the industry's biggest names having the time of their lives right in our backyard. Who would've thought! |

Due to popular demand, we are going to make sure that every newsletter from now on is ended with a "feel good video. We want this newsletter to bring some positivity to your day—and, in the case of today's video, inspiration. Paul Basagoitia suffered a spinal cord injury five years ago, giving him a 5% chance of ever feeling below his waist again. Riding a mountain bike the way that he used to was deemed impossible... However, modern e-MTBs allow Paul to ride like he never thought he could again. "The e-MTB has opened up so much in terms of access for Paul: a return to the sport, to trails, to longer rides, to rehabilitation, to inclusion, to stoke! The chance to ride out with friends, explore new riding spots, climbs hills and drop into trails that would otherwise be beyond his strength has helped Paul regain so much of what he felt he had lost in life. The power of the motor goes way beyond its 85Nm, it also delivers the power to bring people together, to find freedom and enjoy what they love. Power: on. Game: on." - Shimano Watch this inspiring video to see just how much joy e-MTBs can bring back to those unable to ride a standard MTB. Enjoy! |
