GWDC ARMA CHAPTER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - KATIE VOLDAL |
|
|
Katie Voldal is the Senior Manager, Information Governance for Sidley Austin, LLP Katie moved to the DC area in 1988 and answered a help wanted ad (yes, back then job openings were posted in an actual newspaper) that stated that neat handwriting was a requirement. Katie worked retail all of her life and had just left a job as an inventory control clerk for a department store in Michigan where inventory was done by handwriting the information onto forms. Katie started as a File Clerk and worked her way up to Director over the course of over 23 years at that firm. Like many others, she really just fell into the profession. She's a compulsively neat and organized person and RIM/IG absolutely speaks to my DNA. She fully embraced everything about RIM/IG by earning her CRM in 1998, filling just about every position available in the local chapter in those early years, obtaining a master’s degree in Law Firm Management in 2011, earning a IGP in 2015, a CIPP in 2019 and continually challenged herself to learn and stay current with the changes to our field. |
