TreeSisters is a global women's movement and campaign to accelerate tropical reforestation through increased feminine leadership. It's a social experiment exploring the role of women in their power... that women can play in bringing climate related solutions back to mainstream consciousness through grass roots activity and mutual support. This is partly an action research project looking at what is needed to break through climate denial and apathy, and partly a call for feminine leadership and the creativity and courage needed to step up and become more visible and impactful in the world.
As I began to watch the many YouTube videos of inspiring interviews with Clare, I became more and more impressed with her fierceness, fearlessness, and her deep indigenous wisdom and connection to our Mother Earth. Wanting to know her more, I began to follow her on Facebook and other social networking platforms, and websites to learn more about her passion-fire and what drives her! Clare is an earth-loving social entrepreneur, poet, catalyst, realist, radical and FIERCELY WILD change agent! She founded TreeSisters after a car crash and a ‘taking dictation’ job offer from life (‘you have 10 years to reforest the tropics… empower the women… it’s called.. .and this is what it’s for...’) She shares that it has turned her inside out, upside down and maybe ultimately right side up!
"As women we have an obligation to remind everyone that it is imperative that we have this closeness relationship with nature, not allowing ourselves to go a moment without realizing that we are part of the sacred elements." ~ Grandmother Flordemayo
TreeSisters sits at the cross section of feminine empowerment, consciousness shift and tropical reforestation. They are a radically feminine response to climate change and imbalanced global leadership. Working to inspire what they call ‘feminine nature based leadership’ (the wild intelligence, creativity, wisdom and solutions that arise through women when we are deeply connected to nature as the source of our knowing.)
Currently, there are thousands of members in over 50 countries and they have successfully funded over 2 million tropical trees a year across Brazil, India, Kenya, Cameroon, Nepal and Madagascar through 4 different reforestation partners. (WeForest, ITF, Eden Projects and Project GreenHands)
Their focus and passion is the reinstatement of the feminine principle, the normalization of ecological restoration and the shift of human identity from a consumer species to a restorer species. In 2020 and beyond, we all want to live, work, and serve together during this time of transformation from the age of domination to an audacious ‘Age of Restoration’. Clare and her TreeSisters and TreeBrothers have fiercely proclaimed this to be the ‘Year of The Tree’. Everyone has a role to play in the restoration of our planet!
We invite everyone to work with TreeSisters and many others who are working to harness our collective energy as a powerful catalyst for change because we know we can achieve so much more together than we can apart. We also know that each of us has something unique to offer and that only by embracing our diversity will we create the radical solutions to the planetary destruction and climate emergency we currently face.
We can all help to co-create a world that we want to live and thrive in right now for ourselves, and for our future generations. CLAIM IT!!

We hope all women will register for The General Congress of Women to hear about a new model of organizing, one that is old as time, exists in each and every one of us, and all living things, yet so elegant and simple. Maybe we could not hear it before.
It's been here the whole time.
