The words of my first boss still ring in my ears: “Jo, if you think you’re in control you’re not going fast enough”, hence the busiest booking period in the travel agent’s calendar often produces some trepidation.
After dedicating the first few months of the year to my clients’ future holiday plans, I knew I needed a brief escape in March with my hubby to get me through the relentless gloom of a UK winter. Sound familiar?
I hadn't exactly planned on wearing a Teletubby costume, cuddling Husky puppies or savouring Santa's Doner Kebab during this adventure, but each unexpected encounter along with fulfilling a twenty-year dream of seeing the Northern Lights, added to the magic. I hope you enjoy our recounting of this fantastic Lapland trip...
In addition to the latest Travel Counsellors gathering at the Fairmont Windsor Park, the spring months also bring the gift of generous educational trip opportunities and I decided that 2024 should be the year I focus on polishing up my short-haul knowledge.
With a recent rescheduled visit to view some splendid Paphos properties under my belt, Sicily, Ibiza and Crete beckon shortly.
In reference to the photo above, apparently, it’s not cultural appropriation if the costume refers to an ancient civilisation... I checked!
As my Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) finally begins to dissipate, I have found the headspace for a cathartic sharing in the trade press of what is currently grinding my gears.
I also couldn’t resist the lure of Travel Gossip’s annual Gala Celebration, where I get to vote for favourite suppliers, hotels and destinations. It’s a superb reminder of the camaraderie that exists between colleagues with one shared goal – to provide sterling service, value for money and the best holiday possible for our beloved clients.
Thanks for your support as always.
