November 2021 Newsletter from Swiss Park

Calling all Swiss in Southern California!  Swiss Park, Inc. Los Angeles is relaunching their website as an online resource for the Swiss community in Southern California.  

 This virtual center for all Swiss living in So Cal is your source for information about the Swiss community, Swiss events, and Swiss cultural happenings in the Southern California area.  

SoCalSwiss includes a forum where you can post ideas and information to share with other Swiss members and links to Swiss owned and related businesses.

We invite you to look around and see the vibrancy of the Swiss Community in SoCal.

Swiss Park President's Message

Dear Fellow Swiss,

It has been quite some time that you have heard from me and the Board members of Swiss Park.  Despite the silence, we have been diligently working on expanding on being able to connect with you better in the future.  Let me share with you what we have been working on.

SoCalSwiss.com – the New Website for all Southern California Swiss is brought to you by Swiss Park

Over the last year we have been developing and polishing the new website.  Please check out our newly renamed website www.socalswiss.com.

This domain name indicates our intention of inclusiveness, a website for all Swiss in Southern California.  Under the heading Swiss Societies, Swiss organizations each have their own "window" with links to their information and advertise their events.  It is our goal to include any Swiss related group operating in the So Cal area.  Please let us know if there are any groups we have missed.

We have established a Master Calendar and listed all Swiss events taking place in So Cal area.  Each Swiss Society has the chance to advertise its events and link their society’s Google Calendar.  Information for the calendar should be sent to socalswiss@gmail.com

Swiss Connex - When we planned the new website, increasingly committee members stated the desire to “tear down the walls of the all too familiar Clübli-Geist” in the Swiss community.  Hence the concept of Swiss Connex was born.   Swiss Connex will allow Swiss to directly connect with one another in a private forum.  Find it on our website, sign-up now, and share your thoughts on the forum.

SoCalSwiss Foundation

The Board of Swiss Park has approved the formation of a Non-Profit corporation.  The new corporation will be SoCalSwiss Foundation, which we are currently working to establish with Non-Profit status.  The purpose of the Foundation will be to sponsor events for all Swiss to Southern California to bring Swissness and Switzerland closer.

Please enjoy reading this entire newsletter, there is more information on our activities below.  We plan to regularly send our newsletters to all So Cal Swiss.  Feel free to forward this newsletter to any Swiss that you know, and by signing up on Swiss Connex they will receive the newsletter directly in the future.

December 12 - Los Angeles Swiss Singing Harmonie Christmas Concert

Harmonie Christmas Concert

Rehearsals have restarted, and the voices are getting stronger!  Come join us at the Harmonie Concert on December 12 at the Swiss Park:

3pm   No Host Bar

4 pm     Concert

6 pm      Dinner

$50 per person for Chicken Rollatini or Penne Pasta Vegetarian Dinner

COVID Rules:  All Guests must show proof of vaccination, and masks must be worn when not eating or drinking.  This is an indoor event.

Advanced Payment for all reservations is required

Reservations Deadline:   December 3rd

Rent the Swiss Park Banquet Center

If you are planning an event, either family or corporate, consider renting the Swiss Park Banquet Center for your indoor or outdoor event!  You could hold your upcoming company Christmas event at Swiss Park.

The Swiss Park Banquet Center has been operational since the state's official reopening on June 15, 2021.  The business at Heidi's World is doing well, but like many restaurants they are challenged with current labor shortages.
