In brief

  • E€OFISH strengthens the skills of the region for a better protection of its halieutic resources. The programme carried out a training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to fisheries observer programmes. Download the SOP for observers or the SOP for observer programmes

  • E€OFISH supports the region in assessing and mitigating the potential impact of climate change on artisanal fisheries. A regional network has been set up to address this issue. Read more.

  • E€OFISH sets up a Sub-regional Coordination Platform for the coastal marine fisheries sector in the South West Indian Ocean region. This platform will ensure effective collaboration between partner countries in supporting the Programme.  More information

  • LVFO is reviewing the institutional and functional frameworks of the organization. Food Safety Associates Limited was awarded a contract to undertake this framework analysis. Read More
  • Dr. Soobaschand Sweenarain helped strengthen the capacity of LVFO during a mission on 25-26 May in Jinja, Uganda. He interacted with the E€OFISH-LVFO Project Procurement and Accounting Officers to explain further the E€OFISH mandatory objectives and guidelines, as well as the implications of the EU administrative and financial procedures . He also held a virtual meeting with the LVFO Executive and Technical Directors and E€OFISH -LVFO PMU staff to discuss the project’s strategic outline.
