Hi there!
What a fruitful and fun-packed October we've had! Check out our Facebook page for our ongoing AAPI Biography project, the Oct monthly writing taskforce, and the STEAM festival!
November is the national novel writing month. At NextGen Education, we have 3 FREE classrooms for Grades 3-12 students (registration closed). They will write daily starting today and publish their novels/short stories at the end of the month! Fire the inner critics and happy writing!
We're honored to have the national award-winning poet and artist, Deborah Kennedy, join us this month for our Real World Writing Taskforce! Students age 5-19 will each write a poem and/or create an artwork for the largest youth art and poetry contest in the world! This year's theme is "Watersheds". Deborah will read her poem about "watersheds", do a few creative writing activities and answer questions.
We've also partnered up with the Synthesis community for the NASA Lunabotics junior contest! You may join our free discussion group. We'll have Mechanical and Computer engineers Elise and Ray teach 3-D design; and have experts in robotics, design thinking and astronomy join us as guest speakers. David, a published author and editor, will teach kids how to write up their final report. We'll share free resources and lesson schedules soon, please stay tuned!
All the best,
Jiang Pu, Ph.D.
