It's five years when this challenge started out with the slogan “live the music that plays within you” which was a phrase Nicola continuously repeated during her last weeks. It was written on the patch of the jersey carried by 35 cyclists from Paris to Cabourg in remembrance of Nicola.

With the second Edition the name "Nicola Werner Challenge" took over. It was the perfect name for the annual cycling event and it payed hommage to the challenge Nicola had given me: do her one last favour and spread the word about HPV caused cancers. 

Once we entered planning for Edition N°4 we knew, the challenge should be a hommage and dedication to closed ones who are or did fight a serious disease like cancer.

The bike plate became the identifier for every NWC participant: instead of a number its a name.

This year, seeing the cyclists wearing the new jersey with the NWC sign on the back, it’s evident to me, that the time has come to call going forward the Nicola Werner Challenge

THE NWC

Nicola’s story will always be part of The NWC as is spreading the word about HPV caused cancers.

The NWC should be a place where its participants tell their story. As Antoine Ricardou the mastermind of our brand design and its evolution says: 

"The design and the name reflect the energy of the challenge. A powerful charity ride made for sharing and blowing. The memory of Nicola is still there everywhere. The acronym’s name and also the inspiration for a colourful life made of sharing and loving.”
