Coronavirus Self Care resources

The Melbourne Midwifery Collective recommends that pregnant women considers themselves to be in 'lockdown' except for essential pregnancy appointments from 32 weeks.

Whilst the pandemic has made this time uncertain & challenging, it has highlighted the need to focus on family.

It is recognised that pregnancy and the birth a baby is all about family love & connection. This can be the perfect opportunity to spend additional time with your baby in the womb & earthside.

The busyness of our lives can often prevent us from tuning in to what we need, being able to switch off and be able enjoy the special connection that you have with the baby.

If you have other children in the home, taking the time to prepare the family can be really beneficial for the siblings to be ready for the new baby.

This newsletter highlights many tips and ideas that may help to prepare you & your family. We hope that these strategies will be useful particularly in light of current events where you are having to self isolate due to the Coronavirus. However, they can be utilised at anytime.
