Exploring the Art of Watercolor Collage |

This safe, inclusive virtual series is designed for all ages and aims to stimulate creativity, embrace diversity, and celebrate beauty in all its forms. During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the various techniques and principles behind watercolor collage to create stunning visual pieces of art. Starting November 7, you'll join artist and art instructor Lynn Cummings each Tuesday via Zoom from 5–6 p.m. as she introduces you to watercolor collages and helps you prepare to create your own. You'll see examples of collages and textures, get suggestions for deciding on subject matter, and learn tips for successfully gluing and completing your project. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Please enter YORK COUNTY LIBRARY or YCL when asked where you heard about the program. You can find more information about this series and other workshops from Workforce Opportunity Services at wforce.org. |

Community, Partners Support Lake Wylie Library |
Lake Wylie Library proudly received a generous grant from Sweet Repeat Charitable Foundation to help provide patrons with its popular "Take and Make" kits. This nonprofit volunteer organization runs a local thrift store and uses its proceeds to give back to the York County community. YCL deeply appreciates their support and invites you to support them with your own donations as well. |
We would also like to acknowledge and thank our community partners and all those who showed up to enjoy the beautiful weather for Lake Wylie Library's Plant Swap and Traveling Pumpkin Patch programs. As Plant Swap attendees exchanged perennials, members of the Master Gardeners of York County were on hand to answer gardening questions and provide educational materials and soil test kits, while staff from The Schiele Museum came to share their favorite fall fruit — pumpkins! Each child got a pumpkin to take home, just in time for Halloween. Look for more fun fall programs this month at yclibrary.org/events! |

It was a full day of genealogy and family history education, friendship, support, and fun! YCL thanks the Friends of the Library for co-sponsoring this exclusive event. |
