I am incredibly lucky to be beautifully busy both teaching (at CU Boulder, Colorado College, and my private studio) and performing (at all the places listed above)...so busy that it is tricky to find time to tell everyone about my upcoming events! That being said, I'm doing it! I'm telling you! So, please come. Your attendance at one of these events might be the only way I see you in the next ten months! |

Grusin Concert Hall, University of Colorado at Boulder October 10, 2023 at 7:30pm Pianist Suyeon Kim is joined by her friends and colleagues for a variety show extravaganza! Works featured include "Three Preludes" by George Gershwin, "Trio" by Francis Poulenc, tangos by Jacob Gade and José Bragato, "Fantasy" by Frigyes Hidas, a selection of Musical theater songs and short pieces by Friedrich "Fritz" Kreisler and William Bolcom. Also soon: Live from Packard Hall: The Music of Carlton Gamer I am narrating a cool piece called "Aria da capo." Packard Concert Hall, Colorado College October 14, 2023 at 3:00pm Join us for an afternoon of music celebrating the life and compositions of Professor Emeritus Carlton Gamer, 1929-2023. Gamer taught at CC from 1954-94 and in addition to his work as a composer, was known as a brilliant music theorist, mathematician and peace activist. Faculty and guests will present a program of varied works spanning his long and distinguished career, including the Sonata for Violin and Piano, Two Songs by Li Po for voice and flute, Duetude for flute and clarinet, Aria da Capo, and In the Gardens of the West. A reception will follow the concert in the Packard courtyard. More information here. |

Central City Opera, Central Presbyterian Church, Denver December 23, 2023 at 11:00am and 1:00pm December 24, 2023 at 1:00pm A holiday event for audiences of all ages. Performed with a full orchestra. The story of a magic star, a shepherd boy, and how unselfish love can work miracles. Amahl and the Night Visitors tells the story of Amahl, a shepherd boy who has a propensity to tell tall tales, and his mother. Amahl’s most recent story is about a star with a tail that moves across the sky like a chariot on fire. When three splendid strangers knock on the door and ask to rest in their tiny home, Amahl is thrilled and fascinated. When the visitors describe the miraculous child they are seeking, both Amahl and his mother are moved to give reverence to the child as well. Their humble faith conjures a miracle. Stephen Sondheim’s masterful look at what happens after happily ever after comes to life on the Shockley-Zalabak stage for one weekend only! “Take the journey” with Theatreworks in collaboration with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs for a musically lush concert staging of one of the most iconic musicals of all time.
