DINING AND VENUES With so many events to attend over the weekend, you are sure to get your appetite up! Luckily, we have partnered with some incredible local restaurants that will be offering Ocean Lover specials. Head across to the official Ocean Lovers Bar at the Bucket List for cool drinks, sustainable vegan and vegetarian dining options and classic Bondi vibes. ART SCIENCE BY MATT DRAPER Justin Miller Art have announced the first Australian exhibition by international fine art photographer Matt Draper, with the exhibition Art Science opening on March 20th as part of the Ocean Lovers Festival. Draper's incredible images are acquired from hundreds of hours of free diving with magnificent creatures from the ocean and are rarely exhibited to the public. BLUE YOGA FOR THE SEA Start your festival morning with a sunrise yoga and mediation session. Bring your mat down on Saturday, March 21, from 7– 8:30 am in front of the Bondi Pavilion, to take part in our free Blue Yoga for the Sea session run by BodyMindLife. LIVE OCEAN REVIVAL - SEA SCIENCE @ BONDI ICEBERGS From March 19 - 22, the famous Bondi Icebergs pool will be transformed into a Living Crayweed forest, thanks to Volvo and SIMS! Entry to the small pool will be FREE so everyone is welcome to dive right in and explore the amazing work being done to restore Sydney Harbour. Make sure to register for your free entry on our website! The installation officially launches on March 20 at 10am with a free talk from SIMS scientists, ready to showcase their brilliant research projects! LITTERARTY ON SHOW The submissions have been rolling in from schools all around Sydney's east and they are looking incredible! Students have been turning trash into treasure and have created interesting works that are both thoughtful and thought provoking! MEET THE SCIENTISTS You are invited to hear direct from scientists at the frontline of marine discovery and science (like Dr Vanessa Pirotta pictured) when 'Science in Your Swimmers' talks are staged from 11 am on Saturday and Sunday on the Sunshine Stage at Bondi Pavilion. Beachgoers will be invited to come in straight from the waves to hear these outstanding talks! DAVID BOOTH Professor David Booth is passionate about protecting Australia’s unique marine life, especially the fish under threat. Studying the ecology of tropical fish in particular, he has published over 150 papers on human impact on the environment and what this means for the future. KIRSTEN BENKENDORFF Professor Kirsten Benkendorff has a passion for molluscs and what they can tell us about the oceans. Not only is she learning about the impacts of climate change and environmental contaminants, she’s also investigating the use of whelks in human medicine and has even found a promising anti-cancer agent that’s in pre-clinical trials! FISH TANK TALKS It's not just the scientists changing the world! We have so many eco-preneurs coming to talk at our festival and participate in our Eco Expo.
