The Red Hookers Fishing Club Inc was established in 1979 by like minded members of the Redbank Plains Community, to promote an avenue for Friendship and Family enjoyment within the sport of fishing. |

Welcome back to www.rhfc.com.au and our online Newsletter. Our look is ever changing, but our charter remains the same! It is the desire of our members to enjoy fishing first and foremost, we do have friendly competitions whilst on club trips, unlike other clubs where competition is their most important issue. Here FUN is our first priority. Our charter is to promote recreational fishing, while combining all kinds of fishing into outings for our members to enjoy. We achieve this while keeping individuals costs down, by fund raising with Meat raffles at the Redbank Plains Tavern on Friday afternoons and the occassional sausage sizzle. |

Up coming Fishing Trip Sth Ballina / Iluka Date to be decided We have done some research on the possibility of heading down to NSW for a beach fishing trip. When we checked out the Sth Ballina camping area, although very handy to the beach, it is very expensive as well as very controlling as to what you can and cant do on their site. Next idea was Iluka, this spot gives us Beach fishing and beach driving within a k or two, Clarence River fishing from either a boat or the shore/rock wall and weather permitting, it gives us a chance to take our boats out the front for some deep sea fishing. The Clarence Head caravan park rates are cheaper than Sth Ballina, and they offer cabins, motel rooms, caravan sites and camping sites. As well as all that, the park is a 3 minute walk to the pub and the river. What we need to do next is come up with a date, so we can enquire re availability. We would probably want to avoid NSW school holidays (it's cheaper then too). Please either come to the next meeting with your ideas for a date, or email us at info@rhfc.com.au with your recommendations. |

We did not have a meeting in June, due to insufficient numbers. The July meeting will become the last for the financial year 2018/2019 and annual dues will be required after that meeting. We will be having our AGM on a Sunday in late July or early August (TBA) at which time we will elect our committee for 2019/2020. Please give this some thought personally, as we will be needing to elect a President, Vice President, Treasurer and a Secretary. Our July meeting is on Tuesday the 2nd July 2019 |
|
|
Our new shirts are ordered, and should be available at the July meeting. For those that cannot make the July meeting, you can collect at the AGM. For some there will be a small additional cost, which should be paid upon collection. Please email or message David White for info on your additional cost. |

Fishing trip for June was to Mud Island via the river mouth. We departed early on the Saturday morning. Disappointed there were only 2 boats and only 5 members. The weather was terrible with the wind reaching 6 knots at times. Michael Whetter and Paul Blades went out in Michael's boat and were the most successful for the day, with a nice Flathead and a Bream in the esky. David's team put one Sand Crab for the day in the esky. (got 2 of the biggest toad fish you've ever seen though) |

Nigel's visit Once again Nigel drove all the way down from Dalby to do the raffles and to come fishing with us for the Mud Island trip. It is a long way to drive to only fish one day, so Alex, Nigel and David went out off the Gold Coast on Sunday afternoon/evening for a look. It may come as a surprise to some that Alex (Fish Whisperer) was the only one to catch something. 2 big Jewfish! |
