Well, it's almost thru the summer and hopefully we are all getting our share of gold! The outings have been totally awesome so far this year, with a lot of members coming out to them! At the last meeting there were 79 attendees and a special thanks to all the officers that had helped with all the panning demonstrations. Hopefully this will help you fine tune all your panning techniques! The fires spared claims #3,4 and 7 Down on Sevier. So, access should have been opened again. If you have visited any of the club’s claims, please fill out your time spent so it can be filled for the small miners except when we get them done! Return them by or at the next meeting next week. Some of the members went up to #9 in Silver City and did well. But not too much water was left running in the creek! There is a possibility that down on Wilson Mesa there might be some claims that the club will be picking up if the price is right. Will give updates if this becomes a reality! We picked up a new frame system for displaying the clubs’ banners on the outings, making it easier to see where the club is set up each time. (Thanks Matt!) One of our long-time members, due to health reasons, is liquidating his mining equipment. Good chance to pick up some awesome stuff. Look at the end of posts pictures for the information. The outing for this month is at the Altamont gathering next weekend Friday and Saturday! One not to miss! Tons of info about Utah! For the lecture next week on the 20th at the meeting, will be presented by Ric Dalrymple. It will be on his second and new book " ROCK ON UTAH" ITS a very large book. With well over 700 pages and over 400 mineral locations for finding them. He will have them for sale at the meeting for $75. and they retail for $85. elsewhere the club will also have these made available after this lecture at the next meeting in September!! Well, that about sums it up for another month. See you all at the meeting next week and be safe out there!!!
THANKS Phil!
