"A caring, connected and active multicultural community." This is the vision for the recently formed Limestone Coast Multicultural Network. I was privlidged to work with the committee to develop their first strategic plan. I love when a project has multiple positive outcomes - great benefits for the community, environment and business. This is why I was very happy to work with Tatiara Trench Diggers Pty Ltd on a Green Industries SA Recycling Infrastructure Grant.

The $200,000 grant will be used to purchase and install equipment to enhance recoverable material quality of Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO). The new equipment will remove contaminants from locally collected FOGO that will be processed locally and sold back as soil health compost into local agriculture.

The launch of the Limestone Coast Food and Beverage Strategic Plan 2023-2033 was the culmination of extensive consultation and research I undertook during 2022. Developing the Plan was a great journey - meeting many large and small food and beverage producers and supporters and having new adventures as I travelled across the Limestone Coast. My favourite stat is that the Limestone Coast produces more than 25% of South Australia’s value-added agricultural production, from 2% of its land.

Running a Good Governance workshop was an opportunity to share why I believe that good governance is the foundation of organisational effectiveness. During a workshop for Women in Business and Regional Development we discussed: why strive for good governance, what are the characteristics of governance, how - the tools of governance, board responsibilities and individual board member responsibilities, who does what and effective and strategic boards.
