Hay fever, what's your pollen?

Throughout the year tree, grass and weed pollens bring misery to nearly 16 million people in the UK.

Hay fever also known as allergic rhinitis affects 40% of adults and 40% of children, with symptoms such as:

• frequent sneezing.

• runny or blocked nose.

• itchy, red or watery eyes (allergic conjunctivitis)

• an itchy throat, mouth, nose and ears.

• cough, caused by postnasal drip

Identifying the pollen or pollens that trigger your hay fever symptoms can help you decide when to start taking preventative measures. By taking your hay fever medication or remedies a few weeks before the onset of hay fever season can help block allergy symptoms before they start.

How does salt therapy help with hay fever?

Salt therapy reduces the level of immunoglobulin E and eliminates airborne particles from the airways to desensitizes the hypersensitive mast cell responses in the lungs. This process helps to alleviate allergy symptoms and strengthen the body’s immune system against allergic reactions to pollen and to other allergens.
