Brook RED in partnership with MHLEEN (Mental Health Lived Experience Engagement Network) are delighted to bring you a one-day Lived Experience Workforce Conference in August.
Our key hope and intention for this gathering is to create a scaffold of discussions that will allow us to connect, reflect, explore and strengthen Lived Experience practice together.
Themes: we are focusing on themes of wellbeing, connection and reflection come from feedback through many different communities of practice Brook RED undertook last year. Many LE workers voiced a real need to connect together again in person in a room with other lived experience humans, so a collective group can collaborate, reflect together and strengthen the workforce and the LE practice.
Focus: We only have one day to gather together, so we are focusing on building Leadership Skills in Lived Experience – specifically around;
• Self-care and Self-development for peer practice
• Co-reflection and Supervision of peer practice
There will be key lived experience leaders presenting & answering questions in a panel. There will be updates & information on Lived Experience professional development and training available in Australia as well as showcasing best practice. There will be dynamic and interactive consultation and reflective practice. We will be talking, moving, shuffling and sharing, with lots of reflecting and up-skilling.
