Welcome to my mostly sporadic, somewhat informative newsletter ;) |

Ahh, November. It's National Novel Writing Month, which means writing motivations are high and the writers have vanished into our writer hidey holes. Or, most of us. Now, I didn't plan to hit the 50k that is standard with NaNoWriMo—but I did want to get some serious words into Tellus and so far I've added a bit over 10k. I have this strange feeling this book is going to be even bigger than Imber . . . but so much has to happen! But, while I have a second, let's visit a character from Imber! |

My girl Grace (BlogHeroSix) made an aesthetic for my Callithyia! Isn't it gorgeous?! I'm utterly obsessed, which is quite possibly why I had to share. But also, the High Priestess needs more love. ;) |

Speaking of Imber . . . Do you already have a copy? Have you been waiting because you weren't sure, or the money just wasn't there? Maybe I can help. At least a little. ;) |

So, I really wanted to discount signed paperbacks too but, because of the KDP/Createspace merger, the shipping is too unreliable to guarantee I'd have them all to you by the holiday's. But! Keep an eye out. I'm going to try to drop my signed paperbacks for a few days toward the beginning of the year. Shhh, it's our secret. :P In either case, clicky that fancy graphic up there and it'll take you right to all my buy links! |

As for news about The Genesis Crystal Saga — Becky and I sent the first book back into the hands of beta readers a couple days ago and we're prepping for the first round of beta's on book two! :D Plus, sometime within the next month or so, we'll probably be unveiling something extra special on our social media — Instagram will likely see it first. Just. As a hint. ;) |

Need something to read? These two were recent reads, and I very much recommend! |

Elara Dunlin never imagined how much her life would change after moving across the country at the start of her senior year of high school. Who is the mysterious man with the deep blue eyes that follows her everywhere she goes? Strange events begin to unfold, causing Elara to question her own reality. The predictable and simple life she has always known dramatically changes on one cold, fateful night…the night when the elusive blue-eyed man finally approaches her directly and shares information that completely turns her world upside down. Eventually, Elara realizes that she has to tell her only friend, Cyrus, the truth about the mysterious visitor. Will he believe any of it? The elusive man continues to reveal dark secrets about her troubled past, adding a new dimension to their growing relationship. Is she willing to place all of her trust in this one person who pushes her physically and emotionally farther than she ever thought possible? He had warned Elara that her life would change forever, but does she have the courage to move forward? *** 4/5* - "Seeker of Time is creative and clever, with snarky, believable characters who pull you in page after page."

Monsters come in many forms, and not everyone knows a monster when they see one. After three hundred years of monstrous, feral elves plaguing the island nation of Selkirk, everyone believes they know what a monster is. Humans have learned to live with their savage neighbors, enacting a Clearing every four years to push the elves back from their borders. The system has worked for centuries, until after one such purge, a babe was found in the forest.
As Tallis grows, she discovers she isn't like everyone else. There is something a little different that makes people leery in her presence, and she only ever makes a handful of friends.
But when the elves gather their forces and emerge from the forests literally hissing Tallis's name like a battle mantra, making friends is the least of her troubles. Tallis and her companions find themselves on an unwilling journey to not only clear her name, but to stop the elves from ravaging her homeland.
*** 4/5* - "Every little detail from the people snubbing Tallis, to her interactions with her family and then her friends, to the animal's, really built up the plotline—nothing felt like it wasn't contributing."

So I have friends that self-publish, I have friends that traditionally publish, and I have other friends that still have no clue what they want to do with their work. And all of that is totally fine! But this month I wrote a blog post for those self-published people; the ones who are looking for some guidance, the ones looking for new ideas, and the ones who haven't decided if self publishing is for them.
